Coach Stewart’s attention to detail in each skill of the game has been a result of playing Tier 1 hockey his whole life, as well as attending National Developmental camps. Using his hockey IQ, as well as a deep pool of skill-drills to pull from, he is able to keep skaters feeling engaged and challenged each and every lesson. Jake’s roots run deep in Colorado hockey too. Some of the teams include: Team Nike/Bauer, 95 West Coast Selects, Rampage, Thunderbirds, Minors, and Tigers . Notable coaches that have influenced Coach Stewart’s game are Claud Lemieux, Jim Knowlton, Matt Plante and Kent Murphy. This guy is a hockey junky, a true student of the game with the abilities to learn the newest skills and place them into practice.
Coach Sacco has his B.S. from California State University Northridge in Kinesiology, Exercise Science and has interned at a sanctioned Olympic Training Facility in Los Angles while obtaining his degree. Michael often integrates and implements his speed/strength and conditioning knowledge into practice. Transitioning from roller hockey to Tier 1 ice hockey at 13 years old meant that a lot of edge work and practice was needed. Larry Barron and Robby Glanz power skating camps provided the foundation and principles that helped him make coach Turcotte’s LA Selects. He combines his hockey experience alongside his kinesiology understanding to break down and coach proper body mechanics in a way that’s easy and understandable.
